Description
🚗Saab 96 L V4 – 1976: A Tale of Nordic Character
In the 1970s, when most manufacturers focused on flashiness and raw power, Saab chose a different path: ingenuity. The 96, with its Ford V4 engine, was the little Swedish car with a strong heart. It even made legendary marks in rallying, winning the Monte Carlo with Erik Carlsson behind the wheel.
This 1976 Saab 96 is the direct heir of that story. Only its third owner, it has been pampered and carefully restored by two regional specialists: Nyfeler Bodywork (Bulle) and Garage Saab Hémisphère (Corsier/Vevey). The body has been completely redone, the suspension renewed, and numerous parts replaced. The result: a car ready to hit the road again, like on day one.
👉 A smile-worthy anecdote: during its restoration, the previous owner shared that he bought this Saab to “not have everyone else’s car”.
And it’s true: parked on the street, it drew more attention than the German sedans of the time. Even today, it retains that unique aura: a mix of authenticity, rarity, and Scandinavian charm. With only 90,000 km on the clock, veteran expertise, and a nearly concours condition, this Saab is not just a classic car: it’s a piece of Nordic history ready to write a new chapter with its next enthusiast.
